Reverse G: Worn Die

Obverse 7                                                  Reverse G

Obverse Diagnostic Point(s)

Comments: Obverse 7 can be identified in its later die states due to die erosion and multiple die cracks. The most noticeable diagnostic point is a strong die crack from Star 8 proceding left through Liberty's head and out to the rim about Star 7. There is a die crack from the left base to rim and another radial crack from the base then through Stars 1 to 7. On the right side of the obverse, there is a die crack from the foot to the rim and another die crack connecting Stars 9 through 11. The digits in the date were boldly hubbed into the working die with the 54 digits touching.

Reverse G is worn but does not exhibit any prominent die cracks.

Plate Coin: G. Fortin Collection, EF45
