Comments: Obverse 7 is paired with a second reverse die that I have labeled as Reverse K. During this die pairing, Obverse 7 suffers damage producing a large diagonal gouge directly above the top of the shield.

This is a very rare variety, the above example was purchased from Brian Greer after publishing his reference book on Liberty Seated dimes and later sold to Dr. Tim Cook. Afterwards, a few examples have surfaces over a period of 20+ years. Brian Greer revealed an Fine 12 example at the FUN 2004 show which was later sold to an advanced seated dime variety collector and consigned to Rare American Coins during 2014. During early 2012, a California collector reported an EF example being picked off eBay. Lastly, a PCGS Fine 15 example appeared during 2014 and was immediately sold by Rare American Coins.
