Comments: Obverse 3 is paired with a transitional Small O reverse from 1842. The 1842-O Small O (Reverse D) die has been paired with an 1841 obverse die. This pairing occurs after the striking of 1842-O dimes based on the very late die state of the plate coin. This determination is made from the extensive die cracks from the rim to various points on the legend.
