Obverse Diagnostic Point(s)

Comments:  Most 1855 with arrows obverse dies are found with delicate or lightly hubbed dates. The date digits on Obverse 5 are the weakest of the dies identified to date. The tops of all date digits are weakly hubbed with the center 8 and 5 digits lacking definition in upper loop and flag respectively. Stars 1 through 4 are also weakly hubbed when compared to the opposite Stars 10 through 13.

Obverse 5 is paired with a well hubbed reverse die that produces full strikes.
