Comments: Obverse 1 has been polished or lapped. The size of the date digits has diminished and the DR measurement is now DR 0B1 instead of DR 0L. Significant die cracks surround Liberty's head and the clash mark to the immediate right of Liberty's head is still visible. When mapping out the die cracks, we see a die crack from Star 4, through Stars 5, 6 and 7 and to Liberty's head. Another die cracks from Liberty's head through Star 8 to the cap and then Stars 9 - 10. Lynn Ourso is credited with the identification of Reverse C. The position of the Medium O mintmark on Reverse B and C is similar. Lynn was able to locate a higher circulated grade example of Reverse C that exhibited a die crack from the lower right wreath to the rim and secondly, exhibits no clash marks. Without the presence of the die crack or the clashed marks, it is difficult to differentiate Reverse B and C on the basis of the mintmark position alone.
