Obverse Diagnostic Point(s)                     Reverse Diagnostic Point(s)

Comments: Coinage from an early die state Obverse 1 is the best change for locating an In Wreath specimen with full head on Liberty and completely defined shield.

Reverse A has suffered considerable die fatigue and is heavily cracked. The die cracks first appeared during a prior pairing with Obverse 2. When paired with Obverse 1, reverse die degradation continues into a terminal condition with a large retained cud appearing below the left and right ribbon ends. All examples of the Obverse 1 and Reverse A die pairing are seen with a cracked reverse.

Plate Coin: G. Fortin Collection, PCGS MS64 (above top), PCGS AU55 (above cracked die mapping)
