Comments: On Obverse 4, there is weakness in the base directly above the 89 digits in the date. Weakness is seen on the obverse denticles and is common for 1891 dimes from the San Francisco mint.

Reverse F features a weak Medium S that is position high and left. This Medium S mintmark matches the size and shape of the weak Medium S mintmark seen on the 1890 Variety 101a reverse die. There is no possibility of reuse of the 1890 reverse die in 1891 as the mintmark positions are different. There is a die crack on the outer edge of the oak leaves in the lower right wreath.
