Reverse J: Perfect Die

Obverse Diagnostic Point(s)

Reverse J.2 Diagnostic Point During Later Die State

Comments: The date punch on Obverse 8 is level and parallel to the bottom of the base. Reverse J is perfect in this die state but will degrade with usage. On a later die state example, Reverse J.2 develops a die crack on the left side of the wreath that exits to the rim at 10:00. This die crack has the potential to become a retained cud if further die degradation occurs. See the Reverse J.2 photograph above.
