Obverse 7                                                 Reverse G

Obverse Diagnostic Point(s)

Comments: Obverse 7 exhibits few random die lines as seen on other 1868 obverse dies other than one important die line immediately above the Y at the scroll end. With further close inspection in this area, other faint lines were noted that are typical of a misplaced date. Please see the macro image as a guide for your own research.

In summary, the date position is the primary diagnostic point along with a fully broken (S)TATES and the one die line above Y at the scroll end.

Plate Coin: G. Fortin Collection, EF45
