Type II Reverse - Variety 108
Obverse 8: Repunched 7, Medium Level Date
Reverse A.2: Doubled DI(ME) and Lower Right Wreath, Die Cracks

Obverse 8 Reverse A.2
Obverse Diagnostic Point(s) Reverse Diagnostic Point(s)
Comments: Obverse 8 is highly prooflike. The second 7 digit in the date is repunched up. Obverse 8 is paired with Reverse A, which was previously used to strike proof dimes when paired with Obverse 1. Reverse A again exhibits doubling in DI(ME) and the outer left oak leaves. A series of die cracks have appeared in the left wreath. Is this variety a second set of dies intended to generate proof dimes? The reverse die crack would suggest not.
