Comments: Obverse 15 has multiple important diagnostic points. There are several die lines through Liberty's mid section and on the lower gown immediate to the right of the horizontal shield lines. A die defect is seen touching Liberty's left arm at the elbow. The die is crack at the date punch and surrounding Liberty's head.

Reverse N exhibits circular die cracks throughout the wreath that are typical for 1877 Type II reverse dies. Since the plate coin appears to be in a later die state, the circular die cracks have progressed with multiple exit points to the rim. The die crack mapping above indicates nine different rim exit points. Die defects are also seen on Reverse N is the lower left wreath.
