Comments: Variety 106 is an early die state of the very popular Shattered Cobweb reverse variety. Obverse 4 exhibits a boldly repunched Star 5 and comes fairly well struck even though the reverse die experiences severe degradation.
Reverse E is always seen with some level of initial die cracks leading to the spectacular and terminal shattered reverse. The Large O mintmark on Reverse E is positioned right and low.
