Comments: Traces of a misplaced top loop of an 8 digit appears to be present between the scroll and the immediate gown fold to the right of the shield. This artifact could be a die scratch but the shape does match the top loop of an 8 digit.

Reverse N has a Medium S mintmark that tilts left, the first occurrence for this date. Subtle die doubling is also present throughout the wreath elements with the most noticeable being seen on the lower right edge of the oak leaf.

Plate Coin: G. Fortin Collection, NGC MS62
