Comments: On Obverse 16, there is a large horizontal die scratch in the lower gown to the right of the pendant. Doug Winter and Scott Schechter first identified this long die scratch as a new variety for 1876 Type I Reverse dimes. The letters in the denomination on Reverse P are doubled. The most significant die doubling is seen on ON(E) and DIM(E).
