Obverse Diagnostic Point(s)

Comments: Repunching is the most visible above the upper diagonal and below the point of the left arrow. This 1853 With Arrows unhubbed variety is fairly easy to locate, use the stem of the left arrow as your diagnostic point. This obverse die comes with a concentric die crack through the base of the date, the arrows and the stars. Again, John McCloskey first published this obverse in the March 1980 issue of the Gobrecht Journal.
