Obverse 1 Reverse A
Obverse Diagnostic Point(s) Reverse Diagnostic Point(s)

Comments: A difficult date to locate in proof condition. The obverse shows dramatic doubling throughout the lower region of Liberty and shield. There is also a die defect on Liberty's left breast. The reverse die has one diagnostic point, a die line from the rim to AME(R)ICA. This reverse die is used again in 1857 to strike proof coinage for that year.
