Comments: Obverse 2 has several important diagnostics. The first S in STATES is completely broken. There are two die defects on Liberty's right forearm. One defect appears to be a slender die line while the other defect is a circular shaped blob. There is a upward sloping die line through the upper shield. The die line crosses through shield line 12 and the outer right end of the shield. The mintmark on Reverse A is labeled as a Small Filled S. While in this die state, Reverse A is paired with both Obverse 2 and Obverse 3.

Plate Coin: G. Fortin Collection, NGC MS65
