Obverse Diagnostic Point(s) Reverse Diagnostic Point(s)
Comments: The 1 digit in the date has been repunched down and the last 7 digit has been repunched up on Obverse 3. The first 7 digit also shows repunching above the outer right tip of the flag. A close inspection of this repunching revealed a matching outline with that of the upper center section of the flag in the 7 digit. If this observation is correct, then this date has been tripled punched, with the repunching above the first 7 digit resulting from a shift of the logotype punch from left to right. The repunching of the 1 digit is clearly visible above the flag. Obverse 3 is paired with Reverse B. Both Obverse 3 and Reverse B are clashed during this pairing.
All Type I reverse dies show doubling on the denomination. The doubling is typically found on the E's in ONE DIME, however some Type I reverse dies will show die doubling on the O in ONE and the D in DIME.
