Obverse Diagnostic Point(s)                  Reverse Diagnostic Point(s)

Comments: This is one of the few 1877 Carson City obverse dies with a sloping date. The obverse die was previously paired with Reverse P where both are heavily polished resulting in proof like surfaces. There is a notable die defect on the gown fold right of the upper shield. There are additional micro spots of die rust throughout the upper gown and breast area. There is a die crack from Liberty's foot to AMER(ICA). Another die crack runs from the left base to the rim.

A small die defect is present on the lower half of D(I)ME.

Plate Coin: G. Fortin Collection, NGC MS65
