Comments: Obverse 1 has a heavy die crack from the rim above (U)NITED, then through(UN)ITED and through the bottom of letters UN(ITED STATES). On Reverse A, the misplaced top of a C mintmark punch is visible on the bow knot directly above the second normal C mintmark. This is the first and only reverse Seated dime die where a misplaced mintmark has been recorded. Reverse A also has a die crack that starts at the left part of the left "C", then up through the left ribbon up through left leaves, wheat grains, down through the right leaves and through the bow knot to the left ribbon, making a complete circle. The die cracks will become more evident when Reverse A is next paired with Obverse 8. Ahwash stated that Reverse A appeared to be an earlier die state of the shattered reverse of 1878-CC.
