Comments: On Obverse 8, there are several parallel die scratches to the right of outer right edge of shield. Reverse A presents a rare occurrence of a misplaced mintmark for the Liberty Seated Dime series. The top left loop of a C mintmark punch is visible on the bottom of the bow knot. Reverse A is now shattered when paired with Obverse 8. It was previously paired with Obverse 1. There is a strong radial die crack throughout most of the wreath. Reverse A will again be used in 1878 and produces the 1878-CC shattered reverse variety as defined by Ahwash.
