Comments: Obverse 8 is paired with a second reverse die that was unknown until this listing. On Obverse 8, there are several parallel die scratches to the right of outer right edge of shield that render diagnosis straightforward. Reverse M exhibits a small CC mintmark that is well centered between the box knot and denticles immediately below. There is only a small gap between the two "C" mintmark punches.

This 1877-CC Type 2 obverse and reverse die pairing was discovered by Liz Coggins at JJ Teaparty submitted to the author for listing at the 2009 FUN show.
