Type II Reverse - Variety 105
Obverse 4: Rusted and Shattered Die, Medium Level Date
Reverse E: Die Erosion Between Wreath and Rim, Small CC, [mm C,L,TR], Clashed Die
Obverse 4 Reverse E
Obverse Diagnostic Point(s) Reverse Diagnostic Point(s)
Comments: The obverse is a highly polished rusted die that has been placed back into usage by the Carson City mint. It is approaching its end of life and has shattered. The reverse die is clashed and shows considerable die erosion between the wreath devices and the rim.
I have seen a number of dimes from these dies. The determination of earlier die states for Obverse 4 is incomplete.
