Comments: Obverse 12, one of the 1876 Carson City rusted dimes, is paired with a second reverse die. Rust damage continues to be evident throughout Liberty's upper body and the shield. The die defect joining the base of UNIT(ED) is obvious on the plate coin.

Reverse K is also rusted with small pimple like defects surround the denomination and left wreath. The reverse is easily identified by a low level mintmark positioned below the ribbon ends; the individual C punches are well spaced. Reverse K also exhibits a set of parallel die crack in the lower right wreath starting at 4:30 and moving upward to about 3:00. The two die cracks are distinct during this die state. The left wreath is also home to a die crack along with the die rust.

This die pairing is quite scarce and considerable searching may be necessary to locate an example.
